Boots into regular xorg and in /var/log/lightdm/unity-system-compositor.log:

  ERROR: /build/buildd/mir-0.0.6bzr832saucy0/src/server/graphics/gbm/gbm_cursor.cpp(46): Throw in function mir::graphics::gbm::GBMCursor::GBMBOWrapper::GBMBOWrapper(mir::graphics::gbm::GBMPlatform&)
  Dynamic exception type: boost::exception_detail::clone_impl<boost::exception_detail::error_info_injector<std::runtime_error> >
  std::exception::what: failed to create gbm buffer

0.0.8 update

XMir starts up, screen flickers and is laggy on events like changing workspaces and tab-changing application windows - often showing previous application for a moment. In xfce4-terminal it prints characters and then will delete them and show them again

Tried on laptop - completely unusable. Not sure how to describe it - but I'll try … how about - screen split into 5 or 6 regions - alternating between coloured and black/white - zigzagging across the screen or a picture tells a thousand words - http://imagebin.org/266445
